Non-slip work shoes with scale-pattern sole: S2/S3 safety shoes with maximum grip on wet, greasy and smooth floors – for commercial kitchens, catering, food processing, cleaning and welding.
Where floors are permanently wet, soapy or greasy, a standard tread pattern is not enough. The non-slip safety shoes presented here use an outsole with angled cuts arranged like fish scales, as found on professional deck shoes: as you step down, the sipes open, push the film of water aside and grip the floor with many fine edges. The result is exceptionally high slip resistance in wet conditions – tested to EN ISO 20345 (SRC or SR). The flat sole is non-marking and self-cleaning, making it suitable for sensitive floors in hygiene areas too.
These shoes complement our fixed solutions such as anti-slip floor coatings, anti-slip matting for workstations and anti-slip treatment for tiles by adding personal protection with every step. For an overview of all slip-resistant footwear types, see our guide to non-slip safety shoes.

Kitchen & catering
Slip-resistant kitchen shoes: what matters
In kitchens, water, grease and cleaning agents come together. These points make kitchen work shoes truly slip-resistant.
Scale-pattern sole
Angled sipes displace the film of liquid as you step down – for a secure grip on wet and greasy tiles.
Tested slip resistance
Look for the SR or SRC marking to EN ISO 20345. It confirms testing on ceramic tiles with lubricant.
White and hygienic
White microfibre shoes are water-repellent and can be wipe-disinfected – ideal for hygiene areas.
With or without toe cap
S2 safety shoes protect against falling pots. Where no toe cap is required, occupational shoes to EN ISO 20347 are available – see the model overview.
Frequently asked questions
Which kitchen shoes are truly slip-resistant?
Slip-resistant kitchen shoes have tested slip resistance (SR/SRC) and a fine siped or scale-pattern sole that displaces water and grease.
Are there slip-resistant work shoes without steel toe caps?
Yes. Occupational shoes to EN ISO 20347 (classes OB, O1–O3) have no protective toe cap but are also tested for slip resistance. You will find them in our model overview.
Are the kitchen shoes waterproof?
The white microfibre models are water-repellent. Whether a model is additionally marked as a waterproof shoe (WR) is shown in the model overview – we will be happy to advise you.

Non-slip kitchen shoes: chef shoes and work shoes for the kitchen
In commercial kitchens, canteens and restaurants, floors are almost always wet or greasy. Slip-resistant kitchen shoes are therefore among the most important protective equipment in catering. Good kitchen work shoes combine a secure grip with hygiene and wearing comfort for long shifts.
Chef shoes with scale-pattern soles
The sole of our chef shoes features angled sipes. As you step down, they open and displace the film of water, grease and cleaning agent. This keeps the shoe grippy even on smooth tiles. The sole is non-marking and leaves no streaks on light-coloured floors.
White S2 safety shoes for the kitchen
Kitchen safety shoes also protect against falling pots and equipment. The white S2 safety shoes have a protective toe cap, a closed heel area and a water-repellent microfibre upper that can be wipe-disinfected. Look for the SR or SRC marking for tested slip resistance.
Catering shoes for service and dishwashing areas
In service, at the pass and in the dishwashing area, lightweight catering shoes are in demand. Where no toe cap is required, occupational shoes to EN ISO 20347 are suitable. You will find all models with and without toe caps in our model overview.

How the scale-pattern sole works
Angled scale cuts
on sole and heel: hundreds of fine gripping edges deliver the highest slip resistance on wet and soapy surfaces.
Flat outsole
large contact area, stable footing, no tipping – ideal on tiles, stainless steel and coated industrial floors.
Non-marking and self-cleaning
no scuff marks on light-coloured floors, no residue, suitable for sensitive production areas.
Two sole versions
dual-density PU sole with HRO rubber (heat-resistant to 300 °C contact heat, oil-resistant) for kitchens, welding and industry – or a lightweight mono-PU sole for dry to damp hygiene areas.

FAQ: non-slip work shoes
Which work shoes are genuinely non-slip on wet floors?
Shoes with a scale-pattern outsole: its fine, angled sipes push the water film aside and achieve much higher friction values in the wet than chunky lugged treads. What matters is the tread pattern and rubber compound of the outsole, not the protection class – look for the SRC or SR marking.
Which safety shoes are suitable for kitchens and catering?
White S2 models in wipe-disinfectable microfibre with touch-fastening (no laces to trap dirt) and a non-slip scale-pattern sole – with an HRO rubber sole for hot floors or grease. For cold rooms, choose a version with cold insulation (CI) as well.
Do the soles leave marks on light-coloured floors?
No – the scale-pattern sole is non-marking and self-cleaning, so it is suitable for food production and coated floors. Please check suitability for cleanrooms using the model documentation.
